먼저 어린 대학생이 세계적인 경영자들에게 조언을 구하고 그 조언들을 책으로 묶어낸다는 생각을 하고 실행을 해낸 점은 훌륭하다고 인정.

그럼에도 불구하고  별점을 높이 줄수 없었던 이유는 뭔가를 짧게 짧게 요약해 놓은 요점정리 스타일의 책들보다는 개인적으로 일관된 맥락이 있는 책을 선호하는 개인적인 선호가 작용했으며 또한 세계를 움직이는 경영자들로부터 받은 편지 원본들에 대한 자의적인 해석이 군데 군데 그리 맘에 들지 않아서 이다.

예를 들어 잭 웰치같은 경우는 조언을 달라는 요청을 거절한다는 회신을 보냈으나 저자는 그 부분을 용기를 가지고 끝없이 도전하라는 제목으로 풀어낸 것처럼....

편지 원본 그대로가 훨씬 감동적이었다고 생각하며 몇 부분을 옮겨본다.

1. Whatever you do, do it with passion, You should be able to run to work-figuratively- at least for days out of five.

3. never trade off a fancy title for a high-quality firm. In the end it is better to learn and grow in the company of outstanding colleagues as contrasted to being a big cheese in a second-rate organization.

4. Always look for mentors but never hook yourself to one patron.Patrons can lose their jobs and often their proteges go with them.

5. Be a caring person.Especially in business caring people are rare,but they are rare those that care a lot and help their colleagues truly stand out.
