과학자로서 Data나 이론의 해석/분석 시 본인이 보여주고 싶은 결과에 대한 해석으로 이끌어가거나, 보여주고 싶지 않은 분석내용은 축소하는 등을 왜곡을 경계해서 한 말로 이해됨.

 

즉, 명확하게 Data가 보여주는 진실을 추구해야지, 개인의 희망이나 선입견이 데이터 해석에 영향을 미치지 않도록 하라는 의미라고 생각됨
